The Luck

So today I was driving to work like I always do listening to 102.3 the Max. They give away stuff all the time and I try to win by calling in ya know but for some reason I never can get through to them. As I pulled into work they started the give away so I started calling them using my cell phone and wasn't getting through. I continued calling and calling as I was walking and when I got to my desk I picked up my phone on the desk and called and what do you know. I was caller number 16. I won! I won 2 free tickets to a the premier of "The Longest Yard" which I had been wanting to see. After talking to them and them getting all of my information I realized that I wouldn't even be able to use them tonight. We already had plans. So I finally win something and I can't even use it. So I gave them to my mother-in-law. She said that the movie was ok. But now here is the thing. I won and couldn't use my gift. So now I have to wait 30 days before I can win anything else and I didn't even get to you my prize. What a bummer.

Once again. What can I say but Wow!!!

PC Pro: News: Google adds personal touch: "Google adds personal touch 12:11PM
Google is breaking with its philosophy of providing a 'clean' home page with the introduction of 'personalisation' features. The new facility available at Google Labs allows a visitor to get an at-a-glance update of personalised information such as the weather, news, share quotes and their Gmail inbox if they have such a thing.
Among the feeds on offer are stock tickers from the Dow Jones and Nasdaq, news from Slashdot.org, Wired, the New York Times and the BBC. There are also handy word/quote of the day feeds, the weather and a list of local movies near you. There are also driving instructions available via Google maps, which is an odd thing to put on a personalised home page, but one can suppose it's just there as a test.
The customisation facilities are very similar to those rolled out for Google News a couple of months

ago. Visitors can choose from a limited range of functions and sources and select the number of results they wish to display on the Google home page.
The change to the Google home page will raise eyebrows among old search hands. Part of the original attraction of Google was that it was a pure search facility and not cluttered by the rush to portalisation that was occurring among rivals at the time such as Yahoo! and Alta Vista. Many will fear that creeping portalisation will produce the same kind of cluttered page that Yahoo! and MSN are actually trying to get away from. However, purists can still have their clean or 'classic' home page.
Personalisation has been tried many times by portals trying to improve the user experience and make their sites stickier but without a great deal of success. Nevertheless, Google admits that as search becomes increasingly commoditised, it needs to add "

Vacation

Well Raquel and I just go back from out mini vacation from the big Gat (That is Gatlinburg, TN for all you readers). It wan't quite long enought but it was good to just get away for a while and just relax and have fun. Nothing real exciting happened though. We did go to the Chimney's which is a park in the Smokey Mountains and played around there. While we were there Raquel scraped her leg and ripped a hole in her shorts that were only like 3 hours old and Eric dropped his phone in the river and ruined it. Other than that the vacation was pretty uneventful. We also did the usual stuff walk Gatlinburg and we went to Dixie Stampede where the food is great. We shopped the outlet malls as well. It amazes me on how much that place doesn't change but still draws millions of people every year. I mean I have been there likr 10 12 time probably and it seems like nothing has changed. There are like a million "As Seen on TV" stores and Chine Bizzares. I just don't get it. Overall though it was a good trip and we had a lot of fun. I will be uploading some pictures soon.

I am dead it looks like

DallasNews.com News for Dallas, Texas Obituaries: "Brian Douglas Hubbard: Longtime elementary teacher always remembered students

08:56 PM CST on Tuesday, March 8, 2005

By JOE SIMNACHER / The Dallas Morning News

Brian Douglas Hubbard followed the budding art careers of his students long after they left McCoy Elementary in Carrollton.
He remembered their names and saved their best work, which he brought out for a comparison.
Mr. Hubbard, who retired after 19 years at McCoy Elementary, died Feb. 23 when he was struck by a tractor-trailer about six miles north of McAlester, Okla. He was apparently trying to flag down roadside assistance, police said. He was 55.
A celebration of Mr. Hubbard's life was March 1 at McCoy Elementary. He will be buried in Columbus, Ga., where services are pending.
'Brian spent a lot of time with students individually,' said Bill Reeder, who taught with Mr. Hubbard for 17 years. 'If they had talent, he would take them as far as their talent would take them.' Mr. Hubbard also helped students with less talent learn to express themselves through art, Mr. Reeder said.
Mr. Hubbard's former students often returned to his classroom to show him what they were doing in middle and high school.
'He never forgot their names,' Mr. Reeder said. 'Even if they'd been out four or five years ... he would go get their best artwork. He would keep it for years.
'He instilled in kids a tremendous love for art.'
Born in Rock Island, Ill., Mr. Hubbard grew up in Des Moines, where he graduated from high school. He played basketball in high school and at Grand View Junior College in Des Moines. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi and a master's degree from Jackson S"

WPVI.com: The 15-lb. Hamburger

This is just incredible. I love it although someone would be stupid to eat it themselves but for a family or a group of people they could just eat it like a birthday cake. It is awesome.

WPVI.com: The 15-lb. Hamburger: "The 15-lb. Hamburger

May 3, 2005 Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pennsylvania is once again laying claim to the world's biggest hamburger.
Deli to Ship 2 Tons of Salami to Troops

It weighs a total of 15-pounds: including 10 and a half pounds of ground beef, 25 slices of cheese, a head of lettuce, three tomatoes and two onions.
The pub's previous burger weighed a paltry six pounds before another restaurant came up with a bigger one.
By the way the only person to ever FINISH the six pound burger was a 100-pound woman.

Here!!!! You're Our Babout

So last night my family and I went to Bob Evan's to eat dinner. My brother wasn't with us and he always gets upset when we go out to eat and don't bring him back anything. So after we finished at the Bob we went by McDonalds' to pick him up a burger for dinner. After sitting in the drive thru for like 12 minutes we finally get to the window to pay and pick up the food. The lady opened the windows and said that will be 3 dollars or whatever it was and closed the window. She proceeded to get the food and put it into a bag and the next time she opened the window to hand my dad the bag she said, "HERE" and closed the window. What is up that? Why is it that service is just ridiculous now a days. What ever happened to McDonalds slogan of We love to see you smile. Oh well I guess we will just continue to become a nation of rudeness.
