Ordering in Spanish
OK, so today I had an interview at a sports club, which I must say is very interesting since I am like the most out of shape person on this planet (oh except of course our friend “E”), but anyways maybe getting this job will get me in shape…RIGHT! So after the interview I had to go to the California DMV, you know since I’ve lived here for like a year, I’ve decided that it’s time to get a CA driver’s license (actually it’s because in order to get a job, you have to have a CA license). But much to my dismay the DMV was closed because of flooding…WHAT…there was no water inside (I looked), and frankly it DOESN”T RAIN out here, but hey maybe I missed the flooding pipes running into the building. So after all of that I decided that it was time to get something to eat, (there is this great bar-b-que place close to the DMV). So I walk in and realize that I am the only customer in the restaurant and go to order, but quickly realize that the person taking my order speaks NO ENGLISH, NONE! So I quickly remember like my only Spanish phrase No habla Espanol! To which she responds IN SPANISH, so after a few minutes of trying to convince this nice lady that I do not speak her native language, I decide to try to order. I finally remember what I think is the word for chicken…I try to order, so I said “POLO SANDWICH (polo-pronounced like the clothing brand). And she seemed to understand, now the word for baked beans slipped my mind, so I pointed to them in the bowl, and she got that. I grabbed a cup, paid and got out of there. However, as I was leaving I remember that Jeffers knows Spanish…darn I should have called him to translate the order for me.
So anyhoo…I’m sitting at work, not doing work, but writing this blog and goofing off. Frankly just to enjoy the air conditioning.

So I'm curious about a couple of things:
1) Where in the world did you go where NO ONE spoke English?
2) Why didn't you call me?
3) Why did you think that "polo" was a Spanish word. Cuz it's not. And neither is "sandwich." I'm sure you got some "veneno" in your food. That's spanish for "poison."
